Supported living

Three-stage living offer with Ost housing, South housing and West housing; furnished single rooms or living studios, varying levels of support, and shared common areas.

Work and activity programmes

Mandatory day structure for residents without external work; activities in the carpentry workshop, sewing/laundry, kitchen, housekeeping/maintenance, ceramics workshop, as well as external assignments.

Support and socio-educational guidance

Interdisciplinary care with a key contact person, coordination with social services and authorities, support provided by activity programme supervisors, night watch, as well as individual socio-educational support in South housing.

Medical care

Basic medical care via Medbase Bern Bahnhof, supervised dispensing of substitution medicines, medication consultation hours, on-site pharmacy, and medical initial care.

Lunch and full board

Lunch from Monday to Friday with salad, main course and dessert; in South housing, full board is additionally available with breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Leisure activities and outings

Leisure rooms with a billiards table, Töggeli table, piano, table tennis table, punching bag and dartboard; an annual holiday camp week or individual outing days.

Carpentry workshop

Carpentry work under the guidance of a female carpenter; custom individual pieces, restoration and weatherproof treatment of garden furniture, furniture restoration, as well as making and repairing children’s toys and furniture.

Sewing and laundry

Washing, mending and ironing of household and bed linen; production of textiles and decorations, making bags and cards, handling external orders, and organising the Christmas campaign.

Ceramics workshop

Creative ceramic work under the guidance of a ceramist; production of items for sale, for internal use and decoration, as well as receiving external customer orders.

Housekeeping and maintenance

Cleaning tasks, thorough cleaning of public areas, care of the surroundings, maintenance and renovation work, as well as moving and clearing work on assignment.

Work with relatives

Start-up funding for projects and services for relatives of incarcerated persons in the Canton of Bern; submit applications and request support for setting up such services.

Christmas campaign

Annual Christmas parcels for incarcerated people in the Canton of Bern; organisation and production at Haus Felsenau, financed through cash and in-kind donations.
