The foundation's purpose is to participate, directly or indirectly, in the supply of Switzerland with blood, blood stem cells and blood products, also meeting the requirements of the coordinated healthcare service, based on blood donations from voluntary and unpaid donors, in accordance with the guidelines and regulations of the Swiss Red Cross Blood Transfusion Service (Transfusion CRS Suisse); to innovation, research and development in transfusion medicine; and to the initial and ongoing training of medical and paramedical personnel of regional and interregional blood transfusion services (for complete purpose see foundation deed).
